The TonsBridge School celebrated its annual day on Sunday, November 17, 2024, with a lot of fervour and enthusiasm.
The program commenced with the Chairman officially welcoming the Chief Guest, Shri Om Birla, the honourable minister of Lok Sabha.
The Special Guest, the State Cabinet Minister and environmentalist, Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, the state cabinet minister, Shri Ganesh Joshi, and Lieutenant General A.K. Singh, were also given a warm welcome by the members of the management. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. There couldn’t be an apt start to the program with the school choir singing the Swagat Geet and the dance club presenting the Ganesh Vandana.
The Chairman, Mr. Vijay Nagar, thanked the Chief Guest, Shri Om Birla, for honouring the institution with his majestic presence this year.
In his speech, Mr. Nagar highlighted his vision and values that the institution stands up for.
The graduation ceremony was also one of the main highlights of the program.
A memorable moment for the outgoing batch of Grade XII students came when they were administered an oath by the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Eminent environmentalist and Padma Shri, Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, was the special guest. Amongst other important guests were Shri Subodh Uniyal, the State Cabinet Minister, and Lieutenant General A.K. Singh, the former Governor of Puducherry, who were also given a warm welcome by the members of the management. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. There couldn’t be an apt start to the program with the school choir singing the Swagat Geet and the dance club presenting the Ganesh Vandana.

He invoked the students to abide by the values mentioned in the oath, which is the essence of all the values that a student and an ideal citizen should live by. Shri Birla motivated all the children to grow into citizens who make a difference in the lives of others and contribute to making our country progress, in the real sense.
Shri Om Birla was presented with a special memento by the Chairman.
The cultural ethos of the school was reflected in a resplendent show that was put on by the students of the school. The extravaganza comprised a band performance by our budding musicians, songs by our senior and primary choir, and a special theatrical presentation, Abhigyanam Shakuntalam, originally composed in Sanskrit by the iconic poet of ancient India, Kalidas.
The principal, Ms. Bela Sehgal, in her annual report enumerated the achievements of the school in all areas as well as the laurels that the students have brought to the school in academics as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. She also mentioned the institution’s future plans in the offering, pertaining to the infrastructural and educational goals.
Awards for academic excellence and extracurricular activities were given away to deserving students in the prize distribution ceremony.
In the end, the director, Mr. Shailendra Benjamin, presented the vote of thanks, which was followed by the national anthem.
